SSPI-WISE is proud to offer scholarships for women and gender minorities to attend key space conferences.
As of 2024, we have been able to provide 6 passes since the group has formed.
2024 Opportunities
For 2024, the STEM Outreach team has brought back the SSPI-WISE Satellite 2024 Scholarship.
Are you a student who dreams of attending an industry space conference but your student budget has prevented you from going? This is your chance for an Executive All-Access Pass to Satellite 2024 (worth $2999). The event will take place March 18-21 in Washington, DC.

DEADLINE NOW EXTENDED TO MARCH 8, 2024!!
Applications will close February 16, 2024. Scholarship winners will be announced March 11, 2024. Must be a student or recent grad and identify as a gender minority within the space industry to apply.
Included would be an invitation to the SSPI-WISE Happy Hour and additional networking lunch with SSPI-WISE members. Scholarship recipients will be expected to provide reflection on their time at the conference to the SSPI-WISE STEM Outreach working group, which will be shared on social media by SSPI-WISE.
Funding for lodging or transportation will not be provided.

On March 10, SSPI-WISE (SSPI Women in Space Engagement) announced the three scholarship winners for an all-access pass to SATELLITE2023. This initiative, carried out in partnership with Access Intelligence, provides new opportunities for younger women to attend this distinguished space conference. The three winners of 2023 are:
- Sarah Myers, student at George Washington University
- Gitika Gorthi, student at Columbia University
- Yuri Chung, student at George Washington University

Yuri Chung, a Student at George Washington University was the second recipient of an Executive All-Access Pass to SATELLITE 2023, offered by the SSPI-WISE STEM Outreach Working Group.
Here’s what Yuri had to say about her experience at the SATShow, “I learned a lot about how integral satellite innovation is to just about everything in our modern world, and how their importance will only continue to grow. Previously, satellites were something that I mostly just associated with space and vaguely about cellphones and GPS, but there was a lot said during the sessions that related to national defense and international cooperation (and how the two interplay with each other), along with the different kinds of satellites and their respective uses, and how continued development in the industry brings in other fields of science like computation and AI.”
